Body Embodied

(Yoga Mat Prints)

2026

Body Embodied (Yoga Mat Prints) is a series of monotypes that records the unique physical presence of the individual who has engaged with its surface. By rolling a yoga mat with a saturated blue ink, and then printing it onto a heavy paper, the work invokes both a visual and conceptual resonance of oceanic space.

The mat becomes a receptive ground registering contact, pressure and movement.

As the human body is composed of 60-75% water, the print establishes a literal and metaphorical link between body and water, the sea within meeting its echo on the surface of the paper.
